Climate Tucson is pleased to welcome Tom Bowman, author, climate strategist and lead writer on the U.S. ACE (Action for Climate Empowerment) National Strategic Planning Framework, a sweeping proposal and guide for the Biden Administration’s return to the Paris Agreement.
UN-sanctioned and specific to climate education, in the U.S. the ACE Framework was developed by the nation’s top climate and environmental organizations, think tanks and universities to provide a detailed roadmap for bringing climate change into the mainstream of American life through public education, in the schools and throughout our diverse communities, to both raise awareness and inspire participation in the solutions.
“The time has come to lift the dreary veil on the climate crisis and celebrate the power people actually have to reinvent their own lives, their communities, and the world,” writes Bowman in his latest book, Resetting Our Future: What if Solving the Climate Crisis Is Simple? “Creating a culture of climate empowerment can be an inspiring, upbeat and joyous experience,” promises Bowman.
Join Climate Tucson for this optimistic and informative discussion on the work ahead as the U.S. regains its climate footing internationally and at home to inspire not “fear” about the future but action. Bowman will talk about the Framework and how we can be involved, individually and as organizations. He will also talk about his “Simple” book — and that’s the key thought. Every “problem” has, at its core, a “simple” solution.
I think you’ll agree that Bowman’s answer is just that, simple and straightforward: Stop relying on fossil fuels. The great news is that President Biden is championing the same “simple” message.
