Climate Tucson Special Open Mic Meeting
Sunday, November 1, 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Via Zoom, Invite Your Friends

The election clock is ticking. Whatever happens, we have a climate that needs our attention. We have work to do. So, let’s take a break from the stress of the election and talk instead about taking action, regardless of the outcome, at a special Climate Tucson pre-election conversation.

Over the past year, Climate Tucson members have been introduced to a wide range of key climate issues and research. What inspired you? The City of Tucson has declared a Climate Disaster. What can we do to ensure that the City’s programs and goals are met?

Let’s talk about what’s important to each of us and all of us, in general and specifically. Granted, if Trump wins the work will be more difficult. Just take a look at all the environmental laws and regulations he has reversed. Biden made climate history at the last debate when he said what we’ve been wanting to hear: Big Oil is on its way out, beginning with the nearly $5 billion in federal subsidies that the industry enjoys. But even if Biden wins, we still need to make sure he delivers on promises made about his climate change goals and programs.

There is a lot we can do at the community level. Let’s get started planning and strategizing the path so we can hit the ground running.

Visit ClimateTucson.com/about to review the roster of speakers and topics we’ve covered over the past year. I’ve posted recordings of all our meetings since May.
